Deciding to change careers, work at home or maybe become a freelancer can be an exciting, yet frightening thing. First, pleasant thoughts; no more answering to people, free time whenever you choose, hours you decide, endless advantages, then panic thoughts; “How will I find that perfect job?” Don’t let the panic set in; the internet is there for you!

There are hundreds of websites that will help you find a job. I recently started looking at different websites to pursue freelance work. One website found was http://www.jobs.net/. This is a huge website which at first glance can be a bit overwhelming, but once your eye gets past the big orange map of the United States, it is easily navigated. In fact, when the map comes up, there is moment where you go back to school days and try to name the states and capitals, (well, maybe not). Whether you test your State and Capital skills or not, the map is quite impressive, and when you run your mouse over a State, several cities are shown that you can highlight for job postings. One strong advantage to this website is jobs are listed by Category, State, City, Company or Keywords. The keyword- Freelance brought up the Freelance jobs that were posted. Posting dates are given and new jobs are updated daily.

The other nice thing about this particular website is all the “extra” information given. There is a section on Career advice, Career fairs you can attend, a resource page which really didn’t offer that much, and a video center to watch selected videos. The videos are presentations by Career Coaches, Authors and other business individuals. The website has links to almost anywhere you would like to go in the job industry. One link takes you to another website called the Employment & Career Channel which offers Advice, Career Assessment, and many helpful tools in finding the job you desire.

So, get ready, set and know that freelance jobs are out there, and this website is one that can help you achieve your goal in landing that perfect job.
