Job Description:

WHO is the directing and coordinating authority for health within the United Nations system. It is responsible for providing leadership on global health matters, shaping the health research agenda, setting norms and standards, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing health trends.
The WHO web team is entering the final stage its redesign and candidates are needed immediately to convert wireframes and .psd to an HTML/CSS framework. This high profile job requires candidates who are passionate about developing exceptional code, are self-motivated, reliable and available to work under tight deadlines. Candidates will work with project management and design team to code and test redesigned WHO web site.

Requirements:
- Have 4+ years of extensive web development experience, working with large scale and
multilingual websites
- Expert skills in developing frameworks in XHTML, CSS, Web 2.0, JavaScript and familiarity with Ajax
- Excels in developing high quality code that are accessible, meet web standards, and are cross-browser compatible (sorry, IE6 is unfortunately a requirement)
- Familiarity with PERL and/or Bricolage CMS is an added bonus, with potential for additional contracted work converting HTML/CSS into CMS templates.
- Immediate availability
