Job Description

We are looking for experienced magazine writers who can write inspired feature-length articles as well as riveting 300-word short pieces for front of bookand back of book departments. Experience writing heds, deks,  callouts and TOC blurbs is desirable.

Send resume and three recent clips as email attachments, or url addresses to published clips or online portfolio. In a brief cover letter please note youravailability for assignments and experience with magazine publishing.

Writing will be reviewed for potential match of tone, voice and style for the magazine and writers will be contacted if a story assignment fits his or herexperience and writing skill.
Skills
The writers we’re looking for:

Possess exceptional writing and editing skills; know the Chicago Manual of Style and AP Style guides; are comfortable conducting professional interviews by phone and in person; show demonstrated initiative in researching and fact-checking assignments; have proven ability to meet deadlines and write tight,engaging copy; are comfortable working with editors and revising copy as needed; have published clips they’re proud to show; and have previously written for magazine audiences.

Suffolk Arts+Sciences magazine is produced annually by the College of Arts & Sciences at Suffolk University in Boston, MA. We work with an award-winningdesigner, inspired local photographers, and the best writers we can find to create a beautiful and compelling publication that showcases the College and itsstudents, faculty and graduates.

Now in its third year, the publication is building on the success of the first two issues, which have won eight national magazine awards for design andeditorial excellence.

ODM, a nationally recognized leader of creative and artistic designs, is looking for talented Freelance Artists/Designers to develop high-quality artisticdesigns and creations. Freelance Artists at ODM work on projects as needed using a variety of art media and tools including: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator andsimilar software using a MAC platform.

Professional competitive fees are paid individually based on quality, complexity and creativeness of each design or art piece. Fees vary depending on marketdemands, experience, and final product approval.

Skills / Requirements:
3-5 years experience as a Freelance Artist. Background in Apparel industry a plus. This is a freelance opportunity and not regular employee position.

The Education Department at The Museum of Modern Art is seeking freelance gallery lecturers to give guided group tours of artworks in MoMA’s collection to aSpanish, Italian, German and/or Mandarin speaking general audience. The ideal candidates will have a strong interest in and knowledge of modern andcontemporary art and will be equally proficient in English and another of the foreign languages mentioned above.

Requirements: Master’s degree or higher degree (Art History preferred).

Fluency in spoken Spanish, Italian, German or Mandarin and English. Excellent public speaking and interpersonal skills. Previous museum education and gallerylecturing experience preferred. Must be legally qualified to work in the United States.
