Overview
We’re on the hunt for a freelance designer for an ongoing long term relationship! If things go well, the freelance gig would turn into a full time gig.

Responsibilities
Freelance designer to help us turn wireframes into PSDs
Some light graphic design will also be required!
Previous experience on Facebook/MySpace is a plus
Previous experience designing games is a plus
Being able to take PSDs and turn them into CSS/HTML is a plus.
We strongly prefer someone able to work with us on an ongoing basis one or two days a week from our office in San Francisco
If you’re open to turning this into a full time gig if it goes well, that’s a big plus

Freelance/On-Call Fashion Stylist

Description:
QVCs Broadcasting Division has an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to become a Freelance/On-Call Fashion Stylist in our Image Department at our Studio Park location. Under the general supervision of the Fashion Stylist Supervisor, provides direct supervision of the models in all aspects of the live production and coordinates daily activities associated with product demonstrations and on-air image involving models. Works with buyers, vendors and designers to insure effective presentation of various products including fashion, jewelry, beauty and selected hard goods such as fitness equipment for the live show.  Determines wardrobe of all models participating in non-apparel shows.  Views product, selects and prepares appropriate attire to complement the product.  Plans for upcoming shows; determines # of models for each product, reviews product inventory and selects product colors to be shown.  Coordinates fashion “look” to be presented with selection of prop clothing and accessories to be worn by models. Troubleshoots unexpected situations arising from the live show involving models.  Oversees model activity; supervises models appearance during shows, presentation of product and performance during live shows. Responsible for Assisting the PM with hiring all freelance technical positions and equipment, as well as, responsible for filling out required paperwork for payroll/crewing companies

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree in Fashion or related field or equivalent combination of training and experience required.
• 1-3 years recent Broadcast or Fashion Production experience required.
• Minimum 1 year Supervisory experience required.
• Good organizational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good time management skills.
• Strong fashion sense in demonstrable fashion ability required.
• Working knowledge of PCs and spreadsheet software.
• Ability to climb stairs/ladder.  Ability to lift items weighing 5-25lbs. (clothing accessories, etc.)
• Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to differentiate between colors.
• Ability to access and enter information quickly & accurately using an automated system.
• Ability to stand for a long periods of time.

Position Overview:
The Lighting Grip provides direct support to the Senior Lighting Designer, Lighting Design Technician, and the Director of Sets & Lighting, primarily in the live studio environment. Successful candidates need a general knowledge of lighting, electrical power and distribution, and a basic understanding of hand tools.

Essential Functions:

Principal Accountabilities & Authority:
Plot less complex sets under the supervision of the Senior Lighting Designer.
Prepare and distribute lighting plots and tip sheets for floor crew.
Execute the hanging and focusing of lighting instruments for the relighting of sets supporting the live show.
Program lighting control board to creatively enhance the live show look.
Assist Stylists and Videographers with lighting when assigned by Manager.
Performs scheduled/unscheduled maintenance of lighting instruments and equipment.
Relamps studio lighting instruments in accordance with departmental and company safety policies.
Maintains an accurate lighting inventory for all live studios.
Update Senior Lighting Designer on lighting supply usage and inventory.
Performs preventative maintenance checks on sets to ensure all lighting equipment is functioning safely.
Support I-Net and EFP with lighting and maintenance assistance when assigned by Manager.
Maintains accurate preventative maintenance records in accordance with departmental guidelines.
Learns to trouble shoot routine and complex lighting equipment and design concerns under supervision.
Assist Set Dresser with transportation, storage, and maintenance of props and set pieces.
Assist Scenic Carpenter with construction and maintenance of set walls, elements, and furniture including finishing.
Maintain the integrity of sets, set pieces, and storage areas including cleaning, repairs, and painting were needed.
Set up and strike sets from plots, pictures, and sketches.
Operate fork/man lift and company truck.
Perform basic rigging for set elements.
Learn and utilize appropriate tools and style in corporate communications such as email/voicemail/meetings.
Maintain professional working relationships with all internal departments and clients.
Adheres to all company policies and procedures in the performance of job duties. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of carpentry tools and techniques including design, materials, construction, and finishing a plus.

Travel:
Possible travel required will be local and approximately 10% of time per year. No domestic or international travel will be required.
