Kaplan publishing, with a growing digital publishing program, seeks a motivated, detail-oriented Freelance Part-time Proofreader to perform in-depth quality assurance of simple and reference-level eBooks. The assignment requires onsight work and is scheduled to start immediately for a 4 to 6 week period.

Job Responsibilities include:
• QA/proofread digital content to verify adherence to quality standards;
• Meet tight schedules for approval of content;
• Assist in refining QA procedures and standards to increase efficiency;
• Work on-site for minimum of 20 hours/week.

Qualifications:
• B.A./B.S. required;
• 2+ years of QA and proofreading experience;
• Comfortable working primarily on-screen;
• Efficient and detail-oriented;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
• Good communication and organizational skills;
• Familiarity with HTML, XML, and eBook readers;
• Ability to multi-task without losing sight of details;
• High degree of responsiveness and integrity;
• Proficient with standard corporate productivity tools (email, Excel, PowerPoint).

Writer/Photographer candidates should have 2+ years of experience as a staff or freelance writer, preferably both in online and print mediums.
