The Daily Business Review seeks an energetic and tech-savvy paginator/copy editor with at least 2 years of daily newspaper copy editing and page design experience. Proficiency with InDesign a strong plus. Proven pagination design and copy editing skills a must. Candidates without experience and proven ability in both areas will not be considered.

Applicants should have the ability to write accurate and compelling headlines and cutlines, be able to design tabloid news pages creatively and efficiently on deadline. Familiarity with Photoshop a plus.

We are seeking someone with initiative who will welcome challenges and the opportunity for growth.

The job — except in rare instances –does not require nights or weekends. The Review publishes Monday through Friday.

The Flash Creative Web Developer will be responsible for contributing to the daily XHTML production of the Nordstrom.com website, bug fixes, prototyping, creation of new features and Flash projects.  He/She will also perform development lead duties for assigned projects. This position will work closely with other creative web developers in developing final XHTML, HTML, JavaScript and Flash/ActionScript code for all front-end development of the Nordstrom.com web site. The position reports to the Creative Web Development Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop clean and structured HTML 4.0, XHTML 2.0, CSS, JavaScript and Flash/ActionScript code for front-end design projects
• Work with producers, editors, and designers to develop and implement Flash projects
• Visualize and implement creative, clean solutions for complex Flash and other front-end projects
• Provide technical support and expertise to business owners and other creative web developers regarding the website and Flash or HTML issues and content management tool issues and usage
• Participate in concepting and analysis of new front-end Flash web site features with the Creative teams
• Lead Flash development projects as assigned by the Creative Web Development Manager, providing development guidance, support, and direction to other Flash creative web developers
• Working with Creative Development Manager and Site Development Manager, help create new Flash development processes, tools, training documentation and Nordstrom.com intiatives, as well as update existing processes, documentation, and initiatives
• Research and provide recommendations on new and upcoming technologies and areas of growth for Nordstrom.com

REQUIREMENTS:
• 4+ years professional experience developing in HTML (2+ years in XHTML 2.0)
• 4+ years experience developing multimedia projects in Flash with advanced/expert object-oriented ActionScript 2/3
• 2+ years in developing front-end code for database driven commercial Web sites
• 2+ years professional experience developing in advanced Javascript, XML, ASP/VBScript, or ASP.Net/C#
• Demonstrated proficiency in graphics production and optimization for the Web using Adobe Photoshop and ImageReady or Fireworks
