Description
The Interaction Designer will ensure innovation, excellence, and best practices in interaction design and contribute to the design process for all of Sesame Workshop’s digital media projects – across all brands, audiences, and platforms
-Contribute to on-going development of programming vision and plan through collaboration with the Programming Team
-Evaluate complex educational, usability, technical, and business requirements as well as research, brainstorm, develop, and negotiate creative practical design solutions
-Produce interface and usability documents such as: personas, scenarios, flowcharts, sitemaps, wireframes, design docs, functional specs, and other deliverables that communicate project information
-Participate in concept design sessions, project documentation and build reviews/ QA, and user testing

Approx. 6 Month Contract
35 hours/ week
Must be available to work in Sesame Workshop office in NYC.
EOE/M/F/D/AAP.

Specific Skills
-3+ years digital media design and user interface development experience (multi client design firm/ vendor-side experience preferred) .
-Expertise in user-centered design principles and practices including: designing for children, designing for non-US and global audiences, universal design, and accessibility
-Solid understanding of the capabilities and limitations of a range of technologies (web, console, DVD, mobile, iPhone/ iTouch, etc.) as well as knowledge of general programming practices spanning all platforms
-Facility with standard industry applications for interaction design including design/ diagramming software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Visio, InDesign) and rapid proto-typing tools (Flash, Dreamweaver, Final Cut Pro, AfterEffects)
-Involvement in ID/ UX industry (events, professional networks, academia, etc.)
