About: Ajax13 Inc. a software development company that introduces web-based applications written using the AJAX based methodology. It was founded in 2006 by Hisham El-Emam and Georg Wüstefeld to pursue the software-as-a-service vision that is currently gaining more and more momentum in both the enterprise and the small business – home office marketplaces.
Set Up: All the user needs to do is to register for an account via internet browser. Then, after logging in online from any computer, the user can replicate the form and function of a home or business desktop.
Navigation: AjaxWindows’ easy navigation is comfortable to use since it emulates the MS Windows environment, layout and even the use of familiar web browsers such as Firefox and Internet Explorer. Although IE users will need to download a plug-in before they can try it.
Sharing: AjaxWindows is a virtual operating system that lets the user store, edit and share files from its own webtop. It syncs with any desktop and creates a duplicate online version. Data can also be uploaded from any moveable storage devise allowing access from anywhere while on the go.
Pricing: Free
Customer Service: Once logged in, AjaxWindows can be contacted through online links to Help, System Tutorial, Feedback, Developer Forum and Bug Report.
Recommendation: Because of AjaxWindows’ easy navigation and its use of familiar web browsers, I highly recommend this application.

Oos.cc

About: Oos.cc is an online virtual desktop. Its purpose is to provide mobility for the next generation of tech products and services like a home or business computer.
Set Up: This is a web-based online application. All that is required is for the user to register and create an account from an Internet browser to use it as a home or business desktop.
Navigation: This is another application that has managed to recreate an MS Windows environment that allows the user to navigate and feel like any home or business desktop. It even has its own file manager, a system control panel and several utility programs (text editor, image viewer, games, PDF Viewer, etc.).
Sharing: Oos.cc lets the user create, upload new folders, documents, ZIP and PDF files with its File Manager, share documents, images and create web photo albums.
Pricing: Free
Customer Service: Once logged in to the Oos system customer support is available through online links to Help and Support Center, Tips of the day, Feedback agent and Forum.
Recommendation: Even though there is a lot of promise for this system, Oos’ website does not offer enough detailed information about their purpose or their system. However, because it does have enough entertainment and productivity software, and an operating system environment that can stand alone as a desktop, I recommend this application.

G.ho.st

About: G.ho.st, short for Global Hosted Operating System, was founded in 2006 by Zvi Schreiber with the goal to create a Virtual Computer that works with third party web applications that can be accessed with a web browser.
Set Up: Since G.ho,st is a web-based application there is no need for any installation. All the user needs to do is register and create an account to log in.
Navigation: The G.ho.st desktop looks like a conventional Windows desktop with similar functionality. Access to this virtual computer is done through a single login.
Sharing: Since G.ho.st is an online application, it offers more opportunities for sharing files, email, IM, applets for last.fm, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and others. Users can also perform bulk file uploads straight from their computer through FTP access. They can also log into their personal desktop, files and applications. Because G.ho.st is a young system, it does need more productivity apps.

Recommendation: Since G.ho.st is still in its development stage and in need of more productivity apps to be useful as a work tool. I would consider using another application.
