Freelance Writer – Multicultural Reports

Mintel, a global supplier of consumer, media and competitive intelligence, seeks to expand our US team of professional freelance researcher-writers to compile quality, data-rich, insightful reports. Mintel’s series of reports cover the areas of food and beverage, beauty and personal care, and lifestyle. These topics should be reflected in the knowledge and expertise of our freelance writers.

Our most urgent need currently is for researchers/writers with expertise in the following areas:
• Knowledge of consumer marketing in a multicultural setting
• Consumer-based knowledge of cultural behavior, specifically lifestyle & trends

Job Requirements
Qualified freelancers will have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience and be highly skilled in consumer research/data interpretation. Strategic thinking expressed through quality writing within tight deadlines is a must. Expertise in the subject matter of the report is essential. Freelancers can be based anywhere in the US and would be paid on a project basis. Please note that a writing test is administered to assess ability prior to hire.

Responsibilities:
Create weekly analyses for Comcast Entertainment Group’s web properties, including E! Online, G4tv.com, FEARnet.com and mystyle.com. Analyze site performance as it relates to on-air/online programming and promotional activities. Opportunity to expand role into cross platform research, including VOD and mobile measurement.

Requirements:
1-2 years of experience with Omniture (and ideally also DataWarehouse). Strong analytical abilities are required for this role. Possibility for a full time position down the road in this fun, fast paced and creative working environment

Description
QVCs Broadcast Graphic-Creative Execution Department has an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to become an On-Call/Freelance Graphic Designer at our Studio Park location in West Chester, PA.

The successful candidate will use the latest computer technology to create graphic support materials and animations for post production and QVCs live broadcast.
Conceives and creates broadcast quality graphics using available computer based programs.

Responsible for collaborating with Video Producers, TV Sales, Video Editors and Promo Producers on graphic needs for promos, show opens, stings, power promos,  specialized presentations, and seasonal and holiday graphics.

Responsible for coordinating with the Graphics Supervisor and Graphics Manager with respect to creative continuity of QVCs corporate branding standards, including composition and design, color, compositing and animations.

Qualifications & Requirements
• B.A. in Graphics Arts, Graphic Design, Art or related field.  Completion of Trade or Technical program in related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience required.
• Minimum 3-5 years experience as a graphic artist or graphic designer required, along with a background in typography design essential.
• Experience in motion design for television, design for print and interactive communications is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in 3D animation programs is highly desirable.
• Completion of 3D training (3DStudio max or Maya) is desirable and strong Adobe After Effects experience is required.
• Experience with MAC & PC.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop and Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, 3-D programs MAYA or 3D Studio Max and all accompanying support programs is required.
• Experience with VIZ RT Graphics display systems desired.
• Understanding of video production, competency in operating videotape decks, video printers and familiarity with broadcast legal colors and standards.
• Strong typography design and background preferred.
