Our direct client in NYC seeks a Freelance Information Architect.

Skills:

- Minimum 3-5 years experience, including healthcare website experience

- Experience and desire to create intellectual capital preferred (e.g., client presentations documents, etc.). Must be able to supply samples of previous research and design work.
- Specialist in creating positive user experiences through user

-centered design and organizing content via useable, intuitive interfaces for complex applications for both the professional scientific medical community as well as consumers.
- Must be able to work closely with creative department as well as providing solutions to clients’ medical regulatory and IT issues/comments.
- Comfortable working on a variety of projects from tablet PCs to big sites where it’s imperative to create user experiences within CMS and RIAs

- Demonstrated ability to define the strategy including reviewing/doing necessary research and the work to provide the smartest integration of research findings with the solution

- Ability to work independently on IA or UEA role specifics and with a team. Communicate within a cross functional agency environment. Client contact as it relates to the role along with Account, PM and Creative
- Strong client facing presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to handle multiple projects and proposals concurrently
- Research experience, i.e., user research planning and execution, persona development, usability test, contextual inquiry, task analysis and field studies

- Design skills include requirements definition (gathering and documentation), use case creation, user interface design partnership with agency creative team conceptual interaction models as required, information architecture, wireframes, functional specifications
- Proficient in Microsoft office, visio (including template and background creation), and project

Responsibilities:
Utilizing a specific Netflix content guide, the Movie Analyst will be responsible for watching 2-5 pre-assigned movie titles per week. In accordance with the guide, the candidate will be responsible for analyzing the film’s content in a highly detailed, precise spreadsheet format. Pre-assigned films will be furnished free of charge.

Requirements:
Viable candidates must possess polished writing skills, excellent analytical acumen, superb knowledge of film, working knowledge of movie history, strong familiarity with the internet, and proficiency with Excel. Experience writing script coverage is greatly preferred. Movie review writing and a film school background are also tremendous pluses.

Primary requirements include:
Ability to watch and analyze a diverse selection of films

About the Position
Looking for a skilled Front-End Web Developer, Creative Technologist, UX Engineer, or whatever you want to call yourself for a FULL-TIME REMOTE FREELANCE position (30-40 hrs / week) available to start immediately.

This freelance position may involve participation with multiple projects between now and mid-October. Depending both on performance and how well everybody gets along, there is potential to transition to a permanent role. We like having ongoing relationships and not just flings.

This position is available for telecommuting with flexible hours via time-tracking, with a few occasional in-person meetings at the beginning of the project. Local (NYC area) candidates preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate should possess top-notch front-end web development skills with a keen eye for detail, strong decision-making abilities and sound judgment. A true passion for elegant user experience and pride in their work is crucial. Since we love what we do, we expect that you love what you do as well.
Pay is both commensurate with experience & negotiable.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• HTML / XHTML (you should know what content encoding to use for what occasion)
• CSS (2.1… and know what parts of CSS3 are reasonable for production use)
• JavaScript (you can actually write javascript, and don’t “need” a helper library)
• Deep knowledge of any of the popular helper libraries (jQuery, MooTools, Prototype, etc.)
• Superior understanding of Semantics and Web Standards
• Strong knowledge of Browser Compatibility issues
• SVN, Git repository experience

NICE TO HAVE:
• Passion for Microformats
• LAMP
• MySQL
• PHP Frameworks (Cake, CodeIgniter, Kohana)
• Mild sysadmin experience (CentOS, Ubuntu) w/ some shell scripting
