Hub Pages
With all the internet accessories and tools out there to help freelancers get noticed and hopefully generate some income, it’s always exciting when I discover a site that hits the sweet spot of my interest. At hubpages.com, the door is wide open for all topics and interests of freelancers.
Joining hubpages.com is so simple, it only takes a few minutes to get set up. You will need a valid e mail account to get started. Hubpages.com is a free, energetic, high traffic area with all sorts of non techy tools to allow you to tell others about your skills and knowledge.
How the site works,is you simply write about what you know, what you’re passionate about. If you are great with bookkeeping, write about that. If your area of expertise is computers, write about that. The list goes on and on and the range of topics is endless. The behind the scenes technicians have a full time task of making sure the site is set up to be instantly recognized by the major search engines such as Google, e-bay, Kontera, and Amazon.
They have a free affiliate’s program that allows you to make some bucks off your writings with the placement of ads. Hub pages earns its revenue from the ads, so they split the impressions with you, the writer. An impression occurs whenever an ad, relevant to your topic, appears on your hub. As the writer, you will receive 60% of the impression, and Hub pages receive the remaining 40%. Any revenue generated while the ad is displayed is 100% yours. Google and Kontera automatically display ads relevant to your topic, while you get to select the specific ads and products shown in the e-bay and Amazon capsules.
The way I see it, this site offers a fantastic way to toot your own horn. Get creative with your musings and stir up some interest in your profession. The interaction between the fellow members of the hub pages might just lead you to your next big gig.
Freelancing is my life. It's what I know, it's what I'm good at, and I can't imagine doing anything else. You can call me "Freddie the Freelancer"… because I'd prefer not to use my real name for reasons that I'll tell you about in a moment.
