Wow my friends! I have come across an organization that everyone is going to want to join. I’m talking about NASE, the National Association for the Self Employed. The folks at this place have the tools and resources that will allow you to keep more of the money you make. I was poking around their website, and before I realized it, nearly 2 hours had passed by. Not a very productive morning, but very educational.

The Association was founded in 1981 and now boasts the title of the largest non profit, non partisan, association of its kind in the United States. Their main goal is to help entrepreneurs and self employed succeed and continue to contribute to a vital part of our economy. Guess what, as a freelancer, that means YOU.

I don’t even know where to begin in my telling you about this site. Wow!! For someone like me who is always on the lookout for a sweet deal, I am in a total euphoric state. They have a legislative advocacy that goes in front of congress on your behalf, consultants in legal, financial, taxes, and business matters, and a section where you can “tell your story” that allows you a direct voice in the issues they deal with.

It is not free to join NASE, but it is not costly either. There are two membership plans: the gold membership is $45 each month and the silver membership is $15 each month. The benefits you receive through either plan are amazing. There are 82 different benefits with the gold membership (yes, I counted them) and 62 with the silver. These benefits range all the way from health insurance plans for individuals or family at ridiculously reduced rates to fixed price movie tickets. When was the last time you paid only six bucks to see a movie? Both plans automatically issue you a term life insurance policy, at no additional cost. It’s yours just for being a member. There are discount prescription plans, hospital and emergency room benefits that pay so much per day if you are unable to work, payroll services, free roadside assistance, identity theft (For all your accounts. Isn’t that a great idea having all your accounts protected by one service???) and a service, free with the gold membership, called teledoc. I love it!! A certified physician on call for you whenever you have questions or concerns about your health. These are just some of the benefits you gain when you join NASE. I can see how it will be money well spent.

The website is full of information. In the two hours I was browsing around on it, I remained impressed with the abundance of articles, updates and resources they offered. This is one of those sites you should check out ASAP!!!
