(Anywhere) We’re a seed-funded stealth startup seeking an experienced UI Designer/Developer to define the UI/UX for our web application. You will join a small *virtual team* (work from your home/office) delivering under a tight schedule.

You Have:

- Strong, modern design, illustration and web typography skills
- Mastery of web standards and cross-browser solutions
- Knowledge of DOM scripting, event handling, AJAX implementation
- Advanced skills in Photoshop and/or Fireworks for producing and optimizing graphics for the Web
- Loads of self-discipline and independent drive
- Dedication to delivering on-time
- Experience working with early-stage startups
- Experience creating views following MVC patterns
- Experience with Python web development frameworks (TurboGears, Django, web2py, Pylons, etc.)

You Will:

- Design the front end and admin sections of our web app
- Translate your designs into standards-based xHTML/CSS
- Use the Genshi templating system to create views
- Incorporate jQuery to enhance the user experience
- Analyze, diagnose and propose solutions to user problems

Get a Gold Star for experience in:

- TurboGears/Genshi
- Social APIs & Protocols (Facebook Connect, OpenSocial, oAuth, etc.)

This is initially a contract position that we would like to evolve into full time/permanent employment. Compensation is negotiable.

(Anywhere) We’re a unique combination: an e-learning startup looking to shake things up through innovation, recently partnered with one of the oldest, most prestigious educational publishers in the world, Cambridge University Press.

Our flagship web application is now at version 1, and we are looking for another senior front end developer to join our team and help us advance things to meet our growing user needs.

Our current web application has been written with careful attention to web standards compliance, but more importantly, we’re in constant pursuit of beautiful, world class user experience design.

Now we are looking for you:

You have deep web application experience, you’re a world class designer and front end developer, and you have an innate ability to think carefully about, and design for excellent user experiences. You’re eager to take direction, and able to work very productively in a distributed team, but you’re also able to understand high level goals and translate those into user flows, screens, and final XHTML delivery.

We need a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week at least through the end of the year. You’ll work from your home or office and collaborate with our distributed team over Campfire and Skype. Your browser may not support display of this image.
