Provoices, the newest undertaking by allvoices.com, the leader in citizen reporting, is looking for freelance journalists around the world. Positions are available from Los Angeles to New York, Kabul to Baghdad, England to Africa, and anywhere else news is waiting to be broken or events explained.

We’re looking for working reporters who can mix multimedia savvy with old-fashioned shoe leather reporting. But our emphasis is on the journalism, and we promise to guide you through the new world that get stories to readers has become.

The right candidates will know how to recognize a story, report a story, write it clean and get it up on our site fast. We’re looking for war correspondents, and freelancers to cover technology, the economy, environment, U.S. politics, U.S. foreign policy, international affairs, immigration, health, science, entertainment, pop culture, and geographic beats, among others.

Applicants will have published clips and a professional career either as a freelancer or a former reporter or editor in any medium. In other words: professional voices, or provoices. No writers of jargon, please. Self starters wanted and admired.

Positions are part-time contract jobs, with contributors expected to file two or three stories a month, along with photos and video in some cases. Stories can be pitched and will also be assigned. Web experience helpful but not essential.

Requirements/Experience

* Strong comprehension of PHP and MySQL
* Experience writing technical specifications
* Familiarity with various API integrations, CMS applications, XML
* Experience with sessions, caches and cookies
* Building custom user interfaces
* JavaScript (jQuery)
* Inheriting legacy programming
* Knowledge of Linux server administration and configuration
* XHTML, CSS knowledge for collaborating with designer

Description:

Recruiting Poker Blogger (French Language)

We have an ongoing project that we are looking to fill as soon as possible.

The project involves posting five, 250 word blogs per week in French on the topic of poker. Examples of the type of content we are looking to include are poker tips, news and rules.

The pay rates are negotiable, but will need to be made through Paypal.
