Description:
Our client is one of the world’s largest financial institutions, serving high- and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, small and mid-sized businesses and large corporations with a full range of banking, investment, portfolio management and other financial products and services. Our client has more than 15,000 Financial Advisors throughout the world and holds more than $1.4 trillion in client assets.
Our client’s Custom Marketing Solutions group is seeking several freelance editors to work within virtual team environments, in concert with designers, writers and account managers. Each team will develop customized brochures, fact sheets, pitchbooks, ads and Web sites for participating Financial Advisors. The editor on each team will be responsible for assuring that all pieces adhere to company style, are grammatically correct, and stay within brand, legal and regulatory guidelines.
The ideal candidate will be an individual who appreciates the opportunities presented by freelance work, and who can commit to weekly project hours and deliverables. This is a work-from-home, per project program that may require an on-site appearance once every other week. To be a candidate, you must have your own home office with hardware and software compatible with our client.
Required Skills:
A successful candidate will be a bright, highly motivated person who possesses the following skills, experience, and attributes:
- Flawlessly handle all editorial work for Financial Advisor-based products
- Work with Compliance and Registered Principal to ensure that all materials meet legal and regulatory standards
- Interface effectively with all team members to efficiently produce brochures, fact sheets, pitchbooks, ads and Web sites
- Have meticulous copy-editing and review skills
- Demonstrate at least 5+ years of editing experience within the financial services industry, specifically working with compliance and regulatory officials
- Possess ability to synthesize large amounts of info and develop value propositions
- Work within branding and legal limitations, yet sound original
- Interact effectively with Financial Advisors, whenever required
- Understand and implement brand guidelines, and incorporate excellent proofreading, attention to grammar and details—a must

Corporate Writer

Type of Job: Freelance/Contract
Start: As soon as possible
Length: This is an ongoing freelance job with no end date. Our client would like to develop a long-term “as needed” relationship with a freelance Writer.
Location: Anywhere in the U.S.; Work from Home
Pay: Around $40 an hour
This contract job is with a large, global consulting firm with local offices in downtown Chicago. They are looking for a Writer they can work with on an as-needed basis for their various projects, which are frequent but are not 40 hours each week.
Among the things you would be needed to write are Case Studies, White Papers, Articles, Executive Papers and Executive Briefs. Topics that you’d be writing on include Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Strategy, Sustainability and Green topics, and Finance.
Requirements
To be considered you must be a seasoned writer (7+ years) with varied long-form corporate or consulting firm writing experience – no advertising copywriters need apply. You need to be able to commit to writing for this client as their needs arise, and that means you cannot be in full-time job or someone looking for a full-time job, but instead you should be an independent/self-employed writer equipped to work from home. You must be able to work within their existing style guidelines; write with their ‘voice’; be grammatically precise and correct; and most of all be reliable and able to meet project deadlines. Multiple freelance client references are required and will be checked.
