Publisher Seeks Freelance Editor with Law Degree
Description:
Successful business-to-business content company is looking for a freelance writer/editor with a law degree and experience with California employment law to perform certain tasks for publications relating to employment law and occupational health and safety.
Editor’s duties include:
- Assembly of two 4-page (2400-word) newsletters each month from pre-existing content… managing the production of same
- Managing the production of two 8-page (5000-word) newsletters each month and writing two short (approximately 300 words each) accompanying bulletins
- Managing the scheduling and production of 5 Special Reports, 1 Spotlight Report, and 2 Employer Guides throughout the year
- Selecting and submitting stories for appropriate editorial awards—once annually
- Maintaining current lists of editorial board members and coordinating holiday gifts—once annually
- Updating 5 “required notices” charts—once annually
Requirements:
- Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment
- Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills, including skill in editing and proofreading
- Ability to handle simultaneous projects effectively and hit all deadlines… exceptional organizational skills
- The ability to work remotely and be self-directed
Candidates “must” possess both a law degree and experience with California employment law. If you do not possess this credential, please do not apply… your application will not be considered.
Compensation is $15,000 annually, paid monthly in equal installments. This is a freelance telecommuting position… candidates need not live in California in order to be considered.

Online Community Moderator (Freelance)
Description:
WebMD is looking for a community moderator with a track record of building and engaging online communities. Candidate will be charged with assisting members seeking answers to health concerns, strengthening our audience base, and assisting in live events with health experts. Position may be remote.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, engage, stimulate and create interactions with the WebMD community
• Assist in live events
• Moderate group discussions and interact with community team
Required Skills:
• Ability to manage multiple projects with varying priorities in a fast-paced and fluid environment
• Outstanding organizational and detail-oriented skills
• Knowledge of and fluency in social media tools and techniques
• Experience moderating message boards or online groups
