Social Media Administrative Assistant

DESCRIPTION:

An online content development and social media company in San Diego is seeking a contractor based Social Media Administrative Assistant to help with its growing list of campaigns and clients.

The ideal contractor will be organized, enthusiastic about social media, have a professional mindset and have experience using online applications including (at minimum) Google, Twitter, Facebook and WordPress. Knowledge of LinkedIn and iPhone applications is a plus.

SEEKING:

  • General administrative work: Managing schedules and resources; setting up and managing online accounts (i.e., site, login credentials, etc.); managing blog network credentials and access information; updating social media documentation as needed; posting recruitment ads for bloggers or similar contractors and following up with applicants as requested; online research as requested.
  • Twitter account management: Increasing follower counts; monitoring interactions and responding or identifying resources as appropriate; scheduling tweets.
  • Blog setup assistance: Setting up URLs on servers; formatting and adding links; administering social media sharing functions (i.e., Feedburner, Twitterfeed); populating/scheduling blog posts.
  • Facebook: Setting up pages; posting items; facilitating conversations; moderating; promoting.
  • Online Reputation Management: Monitoring Backtweets, Google Alerts, Twitter search, etc. to identify brand mentions and responding or identifying resources as appropriate.
  • Vertical Community Management: Reading feeds daily to identify potential links and news stories and sending them to content managers as appropriate.

This is a contracted position with an estimated billing rate of 20-30 hours per week. You must have your own laptop and internet connection (wifi is available at our UTC area office).

Freelance HR/Employment Law Writer


DESCRIPTION:

Successful business-to-business content company seeks a freelance writer for the following tasks:

  • Write an 8-page (approximately 5000 words) monthly newsletter for California HR professionals, plus one Online Exclusive (approximately 500-700 words) per month.
  • Write four 8-page (approximately 5000 words) Special Reports per year.
  • Write two 30,000-word Spotlight Reports per year.
  • Answer, via email or phone, content-based subscriber questions within 2 business days of receipt.
  • All content must be written in a concise, understandable, readable way and focus on practical compliance with California and federal employment laws and cases.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSES:

  • REQUIRED - A U.S. law degree and experience with California employment law. If you do not possess this credential, please do not apply; your application will not be considered. The ideal candidate would be an employer-side California employment attorney who has experience writing articles for non-lawyers.
  • An ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, readable, plain-English prose.
