Junior PHP Developer
DESCRIPTION:
- If you liked the challenge of building just about anything with Legos, Lincoln Logs, K’nex or any other blocks when you were a kid – then you’ll probably want to apply to our web developer position at Spitball. As a leading advertising agency in NJ, we have the pleasure of working with a great variety of clients and businesses – which brings with it a great variety of projects. Spitball develops small, local business sites to highly-complex web apps.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Spitball is looking for an experienced, versatile web developer. This position will require you to lead certain projects and be a part of a team for others.
- As a freelance developer, you will be expected to partake in all various aspects of the development process from initial client engagement and requirements gathering to solution development and final coding. Yes, you will be expected to create standards-based HTML/CSS from provided Photoshop file. Additionally you will also be required to help support and maintain many of our clients’ websites – which include simple content updates, server/software monitoring/upkeep to larger scale content upgrades. Just like playing in the sandbox when you were little, you’ll have to play nice with others – especially project managers and designers – to insure all projects are a success.
PLATFORMS WE LIKE:
- Standards-based XHTML/CSS, Javascript, PHP, MySQL, XML, AJAX, JSON, CakePHP, MVC, Zend, Django (big plus)
OTHER:
- WordPress, Drupal, CMSMS, PloneCMS, ExpressionEngine, Authorize.Net, PayPal, GoogleCheckout
- Having experience customizing WordPress almost beyond its limit is a big plus. Best practice SEO coding is essential as is attention to detail. Must be available during East Coast business hours.

Conversion Designer
DESCRIPTION:
- Looking for a killer designer who can create landing pages and website templates meant to convert. The only skill I care about is your design skills. We have coders, developers etc who can turn your design into an actual page.
- All I want to know is if you understand how to design toward specific audiences, understand web design best practices, and if you are able to work under deadlines.
- If so, please send me examples of such designs. If you don’t have any examples please don’t apply.
- We will start out hourly, but would like to eventually work toward a per-page cost to help with our budgeting.

Motion Designer
DESCRIPTION:
- We are looking for a motion designer to create 8-10 feature and tutorial videos in After Effects or similar format.
REQUIREMENTS
- Clip Length: Clips are estimated to last 30-45 seconds and would introduce potential users to the software.
- Level of Animation: Videos would require minimal custom animation and mostly incorporate pan-and-zoom effects. Please refer to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-XHA7Xzr8Y to get a better idea of the style we’re looking for.
