Web Designer

DESCRIPTION:

CEN is a small grant-funded project that produces and disseminates information related to the education of students with disabilities in the state of Michigan. We are currently in need of freelance Web design services. We hope to establish long-term working relationships with several talented designers. Work will include design for new Web sites and graphical web assets. We also wish to modernize our existing network of sites, so we are looking for designers who will share opinions and make recommendations for changes to these existing sites.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Portfolio showcasing creative and usable web design
  • Avid interest in current Web design trends.
  • Ability to develop creative Web designs while being mindful of site architecture and navigation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • A general understanding of usability and accessibility as they relate to the Web.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Open and regular in communications with project leads.

Preferred Candidates Will Have:

  • Familiarity with programming concepts.
  • Familiarity with content management systems and related principles.
  • Ability to work directly with developers
