Founding Engineer
DESCRIPTION:
Long story short: The existing tools used by millions of user interface designers the world over are not good enough and make it hard, less enjoyable and too time-consuming to design great user experiences.
We’re a small, experienced and determined group of people who are in the very early stages of creating what we want to be the new standard app for designing user interfaces.
To that aim, we’re looking for a talented and senior engineer to help get the project off the ground, select technologies, build the application(s) and head up engineering.
You need to be experienced and interested in pixel/vector/type technologies as well as developing the UI for same. We expect experience in building native apps on the Mac (and perhaps iPhone/iPad), and you need to have working knowledge of developing web apps. Experience with building Windows application a plus.
Experience and appetite for working in startups and for being part of the founding team with the ups, downs, perks and obligations that come along with that is of course also a plus.
It is early days for our project we’re currently putting together team and business, with the aim of exploring the technical issues, building a working prototype and going for either seed capital or Series A, so this is not an opportunity for the faint of heart. We expect that the right person know and share our frustration with the tools currently available and agree with us that there is a great opportunity to do well, both for our fellow designers and engineers and of course financially. As a founding member, you can naturally expect serious equity.
The group is currently based in Europe, but we’re geographically flexible and are very much interested in hearing from people everywhere in the world.

Freelancing is my life. It's what I know, it's what I'm good at, and I can't imagine doing anything else. You can call me "Freddie the Freelancer"… because I'd prefer not to use my real name for reasons that I'll tell you about in a moment.
