Founded in the United Kingdom, Interviewbay provides mock interview service to aspiring MBAs, Consultants, Bankers and General Managers. Mock interviews are conducted by the alumni of the school or company, from which the applicant has received an interview call. For example, if a candidate has an interview with McKinsey, InterviewBay provides a mock interview service with either an alumnus or a current employee of McKinsey. We strongly believe that an alumnus or a current employee would best understand what his/her company looks for in a candidate. The interviewer provides a detailed feedback (verbal & web-based) to the candidate after the interview.

REQUIREMENTS:

If you’re an experienced web designer and feel the following traits describe you, you may be a good fit for this position:

  • You design for your audience, not for yourself.
  • Details matter, a lot.
  • Grids matter, a lot.
  • You plan ahead, draw wire frames, and sketch your layouts but don’t mind switching it up if it makes more sense.
  • You understand the features and limitations of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Flash.
  • You communicate your progress, present challanges as they arise, and like working with teams and are open to creative solutions.
  • Self motivated and organized.
  • Able to communicate well with developers over instant messaging and project management tools such as Basecamp to clarify your designs.

WHAT WE OFFER:

Although we cannot offer you an infinite amount of pay and work, we do have a few cool treats we’re bringing to table:

  • We can start you off at $30~$40 per hour, depending on your experience and quality of portfolio. If things go well, we’re happy to increase your pay as well on a regular basis, and we will always pay you on time through any method you prefer.
  • We’re flexible. It’s a Freelance position, so we understand you have other work but we also understand sometimes you won’t have a lot of work and may need something extra to fill your days.

Rockstar UI / visual / web designer
AKTA Web Studio is a small team of artists in downtown Chicago specializing in UI, graphic and motion design. While our core team has been working together for about 7 years, AKTA is a new startup but already growing quickly. We have a couple new projects kicking in that are stretching our small internal team a bit thin, so we are looking to add 1-2 incredible designers to our team, on a freelance basis. You will be responsible for design planning, concepting, illustrative design, UI design and (hopefully) HTML/CSS/JS markup [although we have others who can handle that.   • Understanding the technical side . It’s fine if you aren’t fluent in Javascript, but understanding how JQuery interactions work and designing markup that lends itself to technology implementation is crucial.
  • Location doesn’t matter – we have team members in California and Croatia. We have had tremendous success with international artists. You just have to know how to thrive in a digital environment that doesn’t pay attention to 9-5. You must be honest, reliable and a very hard worker.
  • Culture and attitude is hugely important … so rather than a resume with a laundry list of the software you know, we would prefer to learn about you and how you approach design.
