Altpress.com, the website of Alternative Press magazine, is seeking a freelance news editor. From the comfort of your own home, you’ll become an integral member of our growing web department, responsible for following and posting news briefs as they happen. In this newly created position, you will report directly to our web editor and be expected to be a full-time contributor to Altpress.com. You will also help manage and monitor a small staff of freelance news writers.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified applicants should have a college degree in journalism or a related field, be fully immersed in the scene that AP covers, able to work quickly under tight deadlines, proficient with basic HTML and Photoshop, available to contribute nights and weekends, be able to work from anywhere (a smartphone is a necessity) and possess a fierce competitive streak.
