.NET MVC Developer (Part-time / Consultant)
DESCRIPTION:
Retail Relay is looking for someone to help with the web development for our new site, built in ASP.NET MVC. Our business has grown significantly since we launched the first version (the one currently up), so it’s time to ‘get serious’ with this next version.
REQUIREMENTS:
Specifically, we’re looking for someone who is:
- A great developer, of course.
- Strong in C# / .NET core libraries / ASP.NET MVC
- Familiar with Linq-to-SQL
We like to think that Relay is a great place to work, as:
- We’re solving interesting, challenging problems (we’re building a reliable, efficient packet-switching network for food)
- We’re trying to change the world for the better, by empowering cities (currently Charlottesville, VA and Richmond, VA) to distribute groceries with fewer compromises — better food, more living, and less driving.
We’d like to begin by bringing someone in as a consultant for a couple of months. Longer term options exist, too.

Freelance Digital Illustrator
DESCRIPTION:
Our client has a library of approximately 150 vector-based icons/visuals, built over a period of several years by multiple designers. These icons are a major part of the overall client communications, appearing in print, web, TV and other media.
Over the years, different styles and treatments have crept into the library, introducing some visual inconsistencies and making the library much less effective as a visual/branding system. What we need:
- Modify existing library of vector-based icons (approximately 150 total) and unify the overall look and feel.
- Standardize the overall size/shapes so the entire library can operate as an effective system and as part of the client’s overall brand. The icons also must be visually effective as small as 70×70 at 72 dpi
- Redesign or completely re-create approximately 30 of the weaker icons to improve their overall effectiveness.
This assignment can be done remotely.
Please include a link to your portfolio/samples.
