In the News - Headline News

Well my friends, here we are at the final part of our online advertising series. At the conclusion of the series my wish for you is that you are well versed in all the available ways to best market and promote yourself over the internet airwaves. With so many options to choose from, everyone is sure to find the style that best suits their needs and personality.

Today our closer look will be at Article marketing.

Article marketing is posting keyword-focused articles on article based sites that then syndicate your content. Many of the article syndication sites have a very large following and the exposure it generates for your site is significant.

Most article syndication sites allow you to post your content for free. Free is great! I never have any problem working that one into my budget!

Remember to make sure your title of the article brings readers to the full piece. Entice them to want to read everything you have to say on the matter. Your title should tell them why they need to read your article.

Information to the reader should make up the majority of the body of your article. This is why they have chosen to read your submission. Not to be confused with blog marketing, all unnecessary text should be trimmed from the piece. Keep it lean and interesting with up to date information on the chosen topic.

Once your article is published on the sister site, your submission is available for everyone to read and share via their sites, blogs, social networks etc. The more your article is shared, the more traffic it will generate, the more potential clients you gain.

Many of the article sites allow you to optimize your search engine results by including HTML links into your articles. Focusing on your predetermined keywords and doing link backs into various sections of your website is a great way to bring more visitors to your site.

Place links to your other articles in the article you’re writing. If you’re offering helpful advice, most ezine editors and webmasters will let you do this. Create a hunger for your readers to want to see more of what you have to say.

If the article site does not allow HTML links, no worries. You can just add the links into your resource box.

When filling your resource box, here are the must have pieces of information to include:

  • Your name or your Business name
  • Your website address in valid URL form
  • A brief version of your elevator speech
  • A few link backs that relate to the article.
  • Your invitation: Invite them to action either by visiting your home site, making a purchase or even giving feedback on the article. Engage them.

Keep your information in the resource box informative but short and sweet. Make sure the information is related to the content in the article. A resource box that ends up containing more information than the actual article is going to detract from the effectiveness of your article and quite possibly create some issues between you and the hosting site.

Generally, user conditions state that anyone who shares your article must also include all links and credit to the original writer. This preserves the original purpose of your article.

Like many conscientious business folks, the article sites are choosy when it comes to quality. They want the posts on their site to be well written with minimal grammatical and typing errors. Be sure to proof, proof and double proof your work. Keep the intelligence of the piece relevant to the article site where it is hosted. If you are on a site that is visited by others in the field of your area of expertise, by all means use the technical dialog that applies. But if your article is posted in a location that will be read by others unfamiliar with the topic, stick to easy to understand dialogue.

Post all articles on Your Site. Along with building trust and creditability, it increases your keyword drawn traffic from search engines.

Use RSS Feeds To Syndicate Your Articles. Place your articles in RSS Feeds and syndicate them to all interested parties. RSS is Hot!

Use Affiliates If You Have Them. Let your affiliates brand your articles with their affiliate IDs and promote your articles for you. Get the most out of the affiliates you associate with.

Here are some great places to submit your articles. These sites already have a large following of readers just waiting for something great to read:

Article marketing is an active way to spread the word about your product, your knowledge and your offerings. Clients and consumers are looking for information; it’s up to you to give them some.
