Looking for Senior UI Designer

Gravit is a consumer web service focused on bringing traditional media into the 21st century. Our company was founded by entrepreneurs who have built/run/sold numerous web/software companies in the past and are we are fully funded. Our team is small, experienced, and highly driven, and we intend to keep it that way even as we grow.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Making sure the usability and appearance of the site is world class
  • Play a key role in the visual design of new features launching on the site.
  • Have significant creative freedom and the ability to experiment with new designs.
  • Strive for design perfection but love to release and iterate

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Solid portfolio: a history of launching top notch web interfaces.
  • Passion about the space: you love the world of design and are always keeping on top of the most recent design and usability requirements.
  • Can-do attitude: will go the extra mile to launch the best possible design.
  • Ability to solve design problems, not just paint pretty pictures.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, AJAX, prototype.js, jQuery, etc.
  • Experience developing in an Agile environment is a plus.

Rails / UI Developer

DESCRIPTION:

Gemini SBS is a small, employee-owned company that develops web-based software for non-profit organizations. We develop web applications that make a difference and improve people’s lives.

A few things you should know about us:

  • Our office is entirely virtual. A agile team of passionate developers works from home offices around the country.
  • Historically we’ve done mainly custom development for a handful of big clients.
  • We’re currently exploring ways to build web-based SaaS applications to supplement our consulting work.
  • All new development is done in Ruby on Rails.

REQUIREMENTS:

What we’re looking for:

  • A smart, creative, Rails programmer who can take ownership over important projects.
  • Someone with the mind of an engineer but an eye for design.
  • Someone who can work independently without a lot of direction but who can also be a good team-player.
