New logo and 5 website templates with unique illustrations

DESCRIPTION:

The website is similar in concept to groupon.com (daily deals) but it will operate in an Asian country, targeting the expat and tourism market here. While the functions and features of the website are pretty much set in stone, we’re looking for a unique design with unique illustrations to set us apart from the swathes of clone websites in this market, most of whom adapt pre-made templates or commission ‘factory mentality’ graphic designers.

I would also be happy to hear from individuals that can complete one or two of the below three points.

This project is made up of 3 main parts:

  • The design of a suitable logo / corporate identity
  • The graphic design of 5 templates for  our new website
  • Illustration of the 5 templates

Proofreader / QA Representative

DESCRIPTION:

Babbletype is seeking highly literate and preferably experienced editors to be trained in our quality review process. Ideal candidates are available for at least 2-4 hours on weekdays and Saturdays between the hours of 9AM to 12AM. Paid training will be provided. Candidates will be required to take an editing skills test that approximates the work upon application.

Pay rate: 16 cents per assigned file audio minute. The Proofreader / QA representative works with our operations staff to edit and perform audio review of transcripts in order to make them ready for delivery to our clients.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills.

The goal of this position is to review all transcripts to ensure fidelity between the original audio provided by the client and transcript document produced by our team and to finalize for delivery to the client. Additionally, the position will summarize errors and areas of concern and score individual typist performance against established metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Proofread, edit and correct all text within the transcript.
  • Identify areas in content that are or seem to be inconsistent with overall context and review against the original audio
  • Ensure transcript is consistent with the format and job specifications as ordered by the client
  • Create a well organized, time-stamp linked summary of the transcript detailing problem areas that could not be fixed or where the client should do their own review due to internal uncertainly or context, or audio quality
  • Score documents and typist performance against established metrics and provide directional / mentoring commentary on those errors.
  • Return proofed document in timely fashion against deadline.
  • Consult reference books to ensure rules of grammar and composition are used
  • Review all transcripts for visual standards & consistency, format, style and design

Education and Experience

  • 2 to 4 years proofreading experience
  • College degree in English or Journalism preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of proper sentence and paragraph construction
  • Strong time management skills in a deadline driven environment
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skill
