JavaScript/HTML5/CSS Front End Developer Needed
DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for someone to assist the completion of a web services app that will allow users to manage real estate portfolios. Generally we are looking for someone with solid JavaScript experience, ability to write clean code, and an appreciation for doing less when others do more–in terms of design/code/ and life in general.
You’ll be responsible for some interface development (including all the markup and Javascript required) as well as some backend work, like the controller code for the views you build, as well as importing and exporting various models in various file formats.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Interface and interaction design.
- Standards-based, cross-browser compatibile HTML and CSS.
- Ruby on Rails.
- Javascript, especially jQuery.
- Experience with the Excel format.
- Experience writing Javascript that JSLint likes
Nice things to know that we’ll teach you if you don’t:
- Haml and Sass
- The new stuff in HTML5 (we’ve got a lot of s)
This work will be for the next several weeks–perhaps 15 to 20 hrs per week. We have an LA office for meetings, but it is possible to be in NYC or DC, as we are fine with telecommuting and we travel to those cities all the time for bus dev. Thank god for JetBlue!
Anyways, we are self funded the benefit of which is that we are streamlined, building something that users will actually pay for, and are very focused on getting into the market so we can turn this into a real business. We believe your time will be well spent working with us. We have a pretty nice eco loft as our office in LA. There we have a Raw Food chef. For meetings we often have great raw food snacks and entrees. The other perk is that we are really small–a couple people. We have not launched: perfect start-up opportunity.

Blog Theme Designers
DESCRIPTION:
I’m looking for a few, talented blog theme designers who can craft some exquisite themes for a blogging service. Think hipster microblog. I’ll pay you $200-$400 per design. Think about it – if you’re good, you can probably throw something together in a couple hours. That’s like $200/hr, yo! Not chump change! And then you can say you’ve charged $200/hr. Seriously, how many designers can say that?! (Hint: only the good ones.)
Only catch: I’m looking for hip, new, fresh, nice, designs – like what you’d see on Dribbble, Forrst, or an Envato site. None of that boring old WordPress-style shiz! Think you’re up for the challenge?
Also, here are a few good tips when replying to a freelance job post: http://post.ly/o2uO
Note: I’m only looking for designs – no coding involved.
Contact Information: Email me at 6486@jobs.authenticjobs.com with the subject “I’m a REAL designer”.

Freelancing is my life. It's what I know, it's what I'm good at, and I can't imagine doing anything else. You can call me "Freddie the Freelancer"… because I'd prefer not to use my real name for reasons that I'll tell you about in a moment.
