NBC Local Media is looking for experienced nightlife writers in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Chicago, Miami, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Boston, and Connecticut who can contribute multiple blog posts each weekday, in addition to weekly multimedia posts (photo galleries/videos).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicants must love and be curious about all activities after dark.
  • Be dialed into the local nightlife scene.
  • Be aware of local and national music/drink/art trends.

Mid-level Web/UX designer

DESCRIPTION:

We are a small San Francisco based web design firm seeking an experienced U.S. based web designer to work with us on an ongoing basis. You would be working closely with creative director and sr. designer to create visually compelling designs and interfaces based on design direction and concepts. We specialize in design for web appications (lots of charts, sliders, widgets, data display, etc…), but also do a lot of WordPress as well, so WordPress is definitely a plus.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Visual Design – You have to be able to create compelling visual design elements, icons, illustrations, info graphics, etc…
  • User Interface Design – wire-framing, weighting elements, boxes and arrows, flow, great common sense.
  • A great eye for color, typography, graphic design, layout, illustration.
  • Strong knowledge of XHTML/CSS/Javascript, web standards.
  • The ability to translate complex interactions into clean, minimal designs.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in groups.
  • Strong communications and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated high proficiency in leading design tools such as Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator, Omnigraffle, etc…
  • iPhone or Mobile application design a plus.
  • WordPress skills a big plus
