Senior Ruby On Rails Developer Needed
DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a Ruby on Rails Developer for a full-time contract position for an online social application with significant multi-language components. YOUR NET WORKS is a San Francisco-based online services start-up comprised of seasoned and highly talented business, technical, and engineering professionals with proven track records in their fields.

- Play a key role in release development.

- Develop polished Ruby on Rails components seamlessly integrated into great-looking, easy-to-use, simple, modular, and robust application.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven progressive experience in Ruby on Rails development from requirements to deployment of production application.
- Knowledge of XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Ability to achieve high quality results on time and on budget.
- Proficiency in English (written is enough).
- Experience working in a team with version control, change request, and bug tracking tools.Remote group communication and development experience using any Agile methodology and SVN/Subversion deployment.
- Analytical skills to convert functional requirements into technical architecture and a set of system releases.
- Ability to manage expectations, releases, and development process to deliver production components.
- Degrees and years of experience are not required; proven ability to build elegant, innovative, and scalable applications is.
- Proficiency in Russian is desirable.
- Bonus points if you have: web design experience, front-end development background, experience with Adobe Photoshop; Flash.

Database Developer
DESCRIPTION:
An Ideal person would work from home (from Westcoast/ Hawaii time zone) and could work noon-9pm ,pacific or 10am-7pm, pacific. 80% Developement/ 20% DBA
Acquisition & Deployment:
- Design and deploy data table structures, forms, reports, and queries.
- Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
Operational Management:
- Coordinate and work with other technical staff to develop relational databases and secondary databases.
- Develop automated database applications, where necessary, using the applicable database packages.Identify data entry, retrieval, change, and delete issues, and work to ensure a high level of data availability.
- Work with engineering/development to ensure that data entry, retrieval, change and delete functions meet business requirements for project completion.
- Identify inefficiencies in current databases and leverage solutions.
- Evaluate and select database components, relational database management systems, ETL software, metadata management tools, and database design solutions.
- Work with Operations DBAs to diagnose and resolve database access and performance issues.
- Work with Operations teams to acquire and deploy hardware to support data systems.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Formal Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Operations Database Administrator and/or Software Engineer responsible for the design and implementation of data systems.
- Working technical experience with developing, installing, configuring and supporting multi-terabyte database environments.
- Experience with database platforms, including MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server.Experience with emerging ‘No-SQL’ technologies including MongoDB, Cassandra.
- Experience with database design applications.
- Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
- In-depth technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems, including Linux(specifically CentOS).
- Working technical knowledge of current database software, protocols, and standards.
- Experience working with or supporting data systems for Internet based applications.
- Experience programming in Shell, Python, Perl or JAVA.
- Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques.
