Seeking a Web Designer
DESCRIPTION:
Would you like to apply your web design talents to help make the world a greener place? ecoReserve is seeking a talented Web Designer with a lush, sophisticated aesthetic to help us zip through a whole bunch of pages, clean up our CSS and HTML, and bring our editorial pages to life with photos and other design elements.
ecoReserve is an environmental nonprofit startup based in Francisco. Our mission is to restore and protect endangered land, support sustainable livelihoods, and spawn a new grassroots movement for micro-conservation by providing an engaging online platform for individuals of any means to adopt their own nature reserves on endangered land around the world. Our website uses the Google Maps API, high resolution satellite imagery, and robust educational and social networking features to create a close, personal experience of connecting with land and people far away. Our first reserve is on 5,000 acres in the Panamanian rainforest. We are launching our beta website the week of Oct. 25.
REQUIREMENTS:

- Advanced CSS and HTML skills
- Previous experience with making editorial pages look engaging
- Ability to work quickly
- Extremely detail oriented
- Ability to lead the charge while incorporating feedback
Details:
Start: Immediately. We are looking for someone to start ASAP to zip through the site and get everything cleaned up and beautiful.
Location: Telecommute, work from home. We are located in the financial district.
Compensation: $25/hour
Hours: 20-30 hours per week initially, then tapering to 10-20 hours/week.
Duration: Definitely two weeks, possibly a month. An ongoing “as needed” relationship would be great.

Los Angeles-based Internet Brands, Inc. (NASDAQ:INET) is currently seeking a Freelance Health and Fitness Editor to join our Content Editing Team at FitDay.com. FitDay is a free online fitness journal and calorie counter with more than 2 million registered users that helps dieters and fitness enthusiasts achieve and maintain their fitness goals. This website is food science oriented. It provides nutrition information and lets the user decide what’s best for them.
Responsibilities:
- Edit articles for accuracy of content, spelling, and grammar
- Flagging questionable content for deletion or further research
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience writing/editing for health & fitness or medical publications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food and/or Nutritional Science – preferred
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Nutritionist certification – preferred
- Passion for the area of health & fitness
This is a 100% freelance, telecommuting position. All editing work is handled through our online system. This position will cover FitDay.com, and compensation will be paid per article edited; $1 for shorter articles (approx. 150-300 words), and $2 for longer articles (approx. 500 words).
