Web Design Job
DESCRIPTION:
We are an independent web design studio looking for an experienced designer / developer to help with projects. We’re in need of someone who can work from home, has the drive to manage themselves, meet deadlines, and be part of a growing design and development team with limitless potential.
REQUIREMENTS:
- You definitely should be familiar with WordPress and how the platform works.
- You should also have a good understanding of CSS, HTML, and how they work with WordPress themes.
- A knowledge of PHP and MySQL would be nice, but it’s not a necessity.
- You should be proficient with Photoshop, Illustrator and know how to create wireframes, mockups, and what elements go into a good design.
- Creativity and originality are important as well, as many of our projects focus on graphic design, logo design, and site customization.
- Also required are good written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and a unique, creative approach to design projects.
- Right now we’re looking for someone who can dedicate approximately 20-30 hours per week, possibly more, and start right away.
About the Position:
We’re a local, well-established design and development studio with very consistent business and big plans for expansion. You’ll be an independent contractor working remotely and will have control over your own schedule, so a strong work ethic is a must. Compensation will be on a per-project, consistent and competitive basis. There’s potential for full-time employment and advancement, and your income is only limited by your ability to complete high-quality projects. Interactive Designer
DESCRIPTION:
Progressive San Diego advertising agency is seeking an Interactive Designer. Position is currently freelance working from your own home-based/satellite office. This individual should have at least 5 years of interactive design experience, either in an agency or freelance environment.
The designer is responsible for day-to-day development of all the agency’s interactive projects including, Web Site and Landing Page design, Email Blast and Flash campaign development, Banner Ad displays, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be extremely detailed-oriented, organized, and capable of juggling various projects simultaneously.
- 5 years experience in the web design field.
- Knowledge and skill in: Adobe Creative Suite for Web (Dreamweaver, Flash Professional, Fireworks, FreeHand), Adobe Creative Suite for Design (Photoshop, ImageReady, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat), and file transfer protocol (FTP)
- Working knowledge of HTML, Javascript and CSS
- Strong verbal & communications skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to bring fresh, new ideas to the table
- Comfortable working within both Mac and Windows systems
- Development of web-based forms
- Search Engine Optimization skills and techniques highly encouraged
- Deployment of HTML-based Email Blasts through online partner web sites (Constant Contact, Emma, etc.)
- Ecommerce/shopping cart development experience (not necessary, encouraged)
- Audio editing, video editing and animation experience (not necessary, encouraged)
Job duties to include:
- Work and consult with all internal departments of agency, including account managers, creative directors, graphic designers, etc.
- Translate a client’s marketing or informational content into a functional web site, including the site’s structural content.
- Create and/or edit images and graphics for web site use.
- Determine all coding requirements for web site creation including: ecommerce capability, forms and specialized scripts.
- Create templates of approved web site layout.
- Develop web sites, Email Blasts, Banner Ads, etc. using HTML (Dreamweaver) and/or Flash software.
- Locate and integrate specialized scripts.
- Integrating verbal content with site design for final product.
- Posting completed projects to the Internet using FTP software.
- Make timely changes to projects directed by agency, client, etc.
- Submit completed web sites to search engines.
- Ongoing maintenance and updating of completed web sites and interactive projects

DESCRIPTION:
A new start up craft-centric website is looking for writers. Launching in late November, the site will focus on several crafts including knitting, crochet, scrapbooking, paper crafts and jewelry making. We also have a food channel and are incorporating vintage collecting.
