All-Star Front-End Developer for LA based company

This is freelance but preference will be given to anyone located in Los Angeles

Primary Responsibilities

  • Take control of our UI to create a compelling UX
  • Plan, design and produce the site
  • Help transform complex functions into simple, elegant solutions
  • Develop clean code that is cross-browser and platform compatible (we want everyone to see your work)
  • Optimize performance, fix bugs and make improvements to the site as needed
  • Work closely with our backend team

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exceptional skills in hand-coding quality, clean HTML and CSS
  • Expert in JQuery/Javascript
  • Experience with open source technologies
  • Experience optimizing richly-designed Websites
  • Experience with any template-based frameworks, such as Django, Ruby on Rails, CAKE, Turbogears, Pylons, etc
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Prior startup experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Experience and passion for working in startups & fast-paced environments
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly and work under minimal supervision

iVillage Pregnancy + Parenting is looking for writers to add to our rosterof mom bloggers. You must have a nose for news and trends that moms want to read about (being a parent or having experience in parenting writing is
essential) and for those key parenting moments that resonate with every mom (Did you just catch your daughter cutting her own hair? Have to miss her first day of school for a business trip?). We need writers who can pitch at least a few ideas per week.

Experience in health writing and/or personal essay writing is essential. Many posts are assigned for the same day or next day, so you must be quick
