UI Designer/Front-end Developer
DESCRIPTION:
The University of Michigan-Flint, Office of University Relations is seeking a someone who is passionate about design and front-end development and can write meaningful HTML/CSS with expanded knowledge in those areas. This person should be constantly learning and interacting with the web community and staying on the cutting edge of web technologies. In addition, he/she would have a good understanding of usability and accessibility practices, jQuery javascript framework and how to write javascript without a library if the duty calls.
The job duties will vary from text and link changes, to modifying current systems, and creating/designing new systems. This person should be able to collaborate with the marketing team to evolve new ideas and to champion sustainable solutions to problems.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Interface/web design minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- HTML/CSS/Javascript
- Strong understanding of browser specific capabilities
- Basic understanding of accessibility and usability
- Strong principals of layout
- Strong principals of typography
- Grid systems
- WordPress & other content management systems
- Ability to take directions and follow established style

Rails Developer
DESCRIPTION:
FBS is looking for a developer who knows the Rails stack backward and forward. Javascript expertise also is a big plus. Knowledge of Git, Memcached, and Rake is beneficial. We also use multiple database products (DB2, PostgreSQL, and MySQL) and so the more varied experience you have with databases, the better.
You’d be working with our team of eight web developers to create new features for our flexmls System, which serves real estate multiple listing services. FBS is a 100% employee-owned company and a leader in our vertical. We’re based in Fargo, ND, and would love it if you wanted to come work here with us, but working remotely is fine, too.

Designer with Basic RoR Skills
DESCRIPTION:
Speedeals is looking for a part-time (15-25 hrs/week), Designer with Ruby on Rails knowledge to join our development team. You will need to have good knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JS. You will be working with our software engineers in the US, Europe, Asia. Speedeals is a pre-funded startup, therefore this is an equity-only position until we receive Series A financing.

- Ability to quickly prototype and iterate towards production-level quality
- A bachelors degree in CS or candidate for such a degree
