Seeking a Senior Software Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

Seeking a senior software engineer to work on java based (non web) applications for the broadcast industry. The person will need to be be able to travel to the Schenectady NY area for monthly team meetings as well as some travel to client site in NYC. We use an agile methodology and the team is completely virtual. We have a daily scrum.

The role is as an independent contractor and all work will be done from your home office or at short visits to our primary clients facility. An NDA would be required to be signed, A background check is also required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Has an MS in computer science or related discipline
  • Is an expert in object oriented design and design patterns
  • 5+ years experience developing java based applications – Required
  • 5+ years experience guiding design of software architecture – Required
  • Automation experience – Nice to have
  • Workflow experience – Nice to have
  • C++ or C# experience – Nice to have
  • Pay is contingent upon experience.

Sales Manager

DESCRIPTION:

Summer Workation is an education social enterprise that is working to transform teachers’ summers. We are currently looking to hire a Sales Manager to create and build our sales team. The Sales Manager will begin by using both phone and email to convert sales. As sales grow, this individual will work to grow and manage our sales team. The Sales Manager will have the option to work from our office or to work from home.

Initially the Sales manager will work on a 1099-basis, but our eventual goal is to hire this individual as a full time member of our staff. We view this as the perfect opportunity for an energetic hard-working individual looking for a high-growth, high-potential position.

Responsibilities:

  • Shaping overall sales strategy for the company
  • Presenting and selling company products and services to current leads
  • Developing leads, reaching out to customers (via email and the phone) and closing sales
  • Growing our team by hiring additional sales representatives
  • Providing training to new sales employees

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A strong experience in sales is required
  • Experience as a leader and manager
  • Previous work with a web-based start up company a plus
  • An interest in education/social enterprise a plus
  • Strong communication skills (phone and email)
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, Zoho or other CRM tools is helpful, but is not required
  • Four-year college degree

Compensation:

  • Initially compensation will be commission base, but will quickly grow to a salaried position
