PHP/jQuery developer needed to help us catch up on projects

DESCRIPTION:

We recently lost a programmer and are behind on many projects. Looking for someone who can learn quickly, program soundly, and work efficiently to help us catch up on some projects. All of the projects are PHP-related, however extensive javascript/jQuery will also be needed.

Need someone who has experience with eCommerce platforms and internet applications. OO programming is a must. You also need to have at least 20 hours a week at minimum to give to us. There is a lot of work that needs to be done.

A small firm or full-time freelancer would be best, because we are also considering passing on a lot of our clients so that we can focus on a web-based app we created last year. We are slowly trying to get out of the consulting/web design business.

Also, as our clients are all US-based, it’s very important that applicants live in the USA or Canada who can be available during our work hours and that of our clients.

We could care less if you have a resume (we probably won’t read it). Just give us examples of a few programming projects and your role in each. Also a couple sentences about your programming style and approach to projects would be helpful.

Website Developer

DESCRIPTION:

WorkSimple is seeking a website developer to further designs and extend development of our online presence. You’ll work with sales & marketing as well as the product team to come up with the right improvements that will drive measurable change in traffic, trials, and conversions. We are on WordPress, so the website developer should be comfortable with the functionality and limitations of the CMS.

Expectations for this effort are for someone with proven experience in website development on WordPress. The website developer should also be comfortable taking an existing design from Photoshop and extending it while still maintaining the original design’s styles and intent.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Entirely at ease using Photoshop
  • Complete comfortable administrating a WordPress site
  • Highly happy producing clean HTML and CSS

Nice-to-haves

  • Good taste, and experience working on good-looking sites
  • Familiarity with funnel tracking
  • Since this is likely to be a remote relationship, would choose a cheerful candidate over churlish one

Graphic Designer to Create Photoshop Comps for Site Redesign

DESCRIPTION:

Work with our founder and our front-end developer to refresh the *look and feel* of our website. Wireframes have already been created and we just need someone with a designer’s eye to to turn them into Photoshop comps. No coding required.

Our company helps guys improve their romantic lives – with meeting women, social skills, and confidence in general. Our audience is primarily single 17 – 45 year old males, a group that runs the gamut from Wall Street professionals, to college frat boys, to suburban soccer dads.
REQUIREMENTS:

  • Design/branding expertise… typeface, color scheme, borders, boxes, etc.
  • Final Deliverable: Photoshop comps of the:
    • home page
    • product page

Something classy but accessible. Something with a timeless foundation but a lot of youthful energy.  Something colorful but not distracting. Stuff we like:

- http://tayron.com.br/ – See the quicksilver image at the bottom.  While I don’t love the fonts, everything else rocks.  The colors, transparency, borders, and the juxtaposition of strength and action otherwise makes me want to write poetry.

- http://www.andrepoli.com/ – Love the elements i.e. boxes and borders on the Nike work. Great use of gradients, shadows, spacing, icons, and text.

- http://www.jetsetter.com/ – Classy, clean and upscale, but still very accessible.
