We are seeking an entrepreneurial Proofreader-Editor. Digital experience is required. This position will be part-time.

Responsible for the proofreading, editing and testing of all campaign, e-mail and web site products. Also accountable for reviewing and proofing product text against the client standards and requirements determined at the start of the project in addition to well accepted industry standards. This position entails proofreading and editing to quickly turn around documents so that typos and other such errors don’t leave the department

  • Responsibilities: Proofreads all jobs coming from agency creative group at various stages of production, as well as internal or marketing communications.
  • Proofreads for typographical and grammatical errors, client agency preferences, and overall job appearance. Develops QA report for edits and corrections.
  • Manages corrections to the copy ensuring that the copy is correct before the job goes to the account service team, client or vendor.
  • Proofreads all vendor proofs to ensure that the proofs match the final specifications.
  • Maintains and updates each client’s style guide.
  • Trains new account and creative employees in client style guide and proofreading requirements.
  • May perform editorial work as necessary.
  • Performs other proofreading duties, as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualifications: Excellent customer service and proofreading skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communication, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Detail-oriented, team player with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Account Services, Art Directors, Copywriters and Technical staff to seek information and resolve questions regarding the text and technical aspects of work.
  • Extensive knowledge of proofreading marks and skills.
  • Excellent command of the English language and grammar, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
  • 2+ years experience in proofreading, preferably within an agency environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required
  • The strong candidate will have a keen attention to detail, be well organized, possesses good decision-making skill, and have self-administrative skills.

We’re hiring a freelance back-end developer to assist with creating additional features for our growing web-based project management app. This person must be a very detailed and meticulous developer that can offer suggestions, ideas, and thoughts on how to tackle ideas and implement them.
