DESCRIPTION:

You are a rockstar developer who knows that every pixel counts, and can code sliced web designs into beautiful, semantic code. You’re up on the latest technologies and are friendly with command line. You can’t wait for HTML5 to be supported by all browsers and also know how to make IE6 behave when you have to. Most importantly, you love what you do.

We are Zeta Labs, a web design and development studio based in NYC (but you can be anywhere). We work with small to medium businesses and non-profits who are out to make a difference in their industry.  We craft experiences that have users love their time on the web. We also love videogames, geeky jokes, and cute robots, so it wouldn’t hurt if you did, too!

REQUIREMENTS:

  • HTML, CSS, Javascript (libraries would be nice, especially JQuery), PHP
  • Major Pluses: Wordpress (we get custom theme work frequently), Ruby (on Rails), Basic Photoshop Knowledge, Objective C
  • Nice to Haves:
  • Git, Actionscript 2 + 3

Senior Interaction Designer (Freelance)

DESCRIPTION:

Senior Interaction Designers are integral to the HUGE process and are key members of the teams that define the success of so many of our clients online today. Senior Interaction Designers lead research and strategy, information architecture, and interaction design to create superb user experiences. Senior Interaction Designers develop and understand the business requirements of our clients then translate them into experiences their customers will love.

HUGE is looking for freelance Senior Interaction Designers for short and long-term contract opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and conduct user requirements gathering and analysis, competitive research, conceptual modeling and usability testing
  • Design and specify user interfaces and information architecture using participatory and iterative design techniques including customer interviews
  • Usability testing, and other forms of requirements discovery
  • Produce user requirements specifications, personas, storyboards, scenarios, prototypes, and design specifications
  • Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas and detailed design rationale both verbally and visually
  • Manage the interaction design process, drive decisions, track issues, and assist in estimating resource needs and schedules
  • Participate as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team that includes visual designers, project managers, product strategists, and developers.
  • Contribute to the definition scope and phasing of project timelines

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 5+ years of user interface design experience
  • Ability to understand customer needs, motivations and behaviors and translate them into actionable deliverables
  • Detail-oriented and highly developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • must be a self-starter who will bring original ideas and fresh approaches to each project they work on.
  • Strong knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology, particularly as applied to Web-based applications
  • Demonstrated experience using web analytics data to inform design decisions – must have an intermediate understanding of major web analytics packages and SEO strategies
  • Strong self-management skills as well as ability to work as a contributing member of a multi-discipline team
  • Ability to collaborate with other designers and developers to envision and iterate concepts
  • Advanced proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Visio
  • BS/BA in Design, HCI or related degree preferred

Public Relations Freelance Specialist

DESCRIPTION:

Established Public Relations firm with local, regional and national industry leading clients seeks a highly-motivated off-site freelance Public Relations Specialist with 7+ years of professional experience for a long-term project-by-project basis relationship. This person has represented high-profile companies and brands. PR placement is needed across diverse media outlets. Excellent written and oral pitches required for local, regional and national media placement. Strong, long-term relationships with media decision makers a must. The ideal candidate will collaborate with agency representatives to plan, target messages and execute PR and communications programs that provide high impact coverage and strengthen our client’s presence through positioning, messaging and go-to-market programs aimed toward developing our client’s leadership position in the marketplace. You must quickly understand the client’s needs and craft copy/news releases, media alerts, oral pitches, arrange interviews, draft speeches, white papers, articles, backgrounders and online blasts that follow the client’s culture and agency style guidelines. Ability to prioritize tasks, adaptability, attention to detail to ensure quality and accuracy and an empathetic ‘sense of urgency’. Able to multitask and handle multiple brands while remaining true to each distinct brand. You must be proficient in creating schedules, meeting deadlines, editing, proofreading and revision.

REQUIREMENTS:
