Network Contract Manager

DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for:

  • Understanding government programs reimbursement strategies?.
  • Developing and maintaining facility payment appendix language to support the government program reimbursement strategies?.
  • Researching and collaborating with appropriate business owners to develop potential new strategies?.
  • Coordinating with Uniprise, UT, system configuration teams, Emptoris and other departments/segments in the implementation of reimbursement and pricing strategies?.
  • Developing and documenting system enhancement requests to support the implementation of pricing strategies?.
  • Developing training materials and curriculum supporting the standard payment appendices and the reimbursement strategies supporting the government programs?.
  • Collaborating with HCE Network Pricing of reimbursement strategies?.
  • Evaluating requests and issues raised from the regional Network Management and HCE Network Pricing staff for potential revisions/enhancements to the standard payment appendices and state specific payment appendices.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years prior contracting experience at hospital level.
  • 2+ years experience with business writing.

Assets:

  • Detailed working knowledge of Medicare and UHN facility reimbursement methodologies (MS-DRG, APC, per case, per visit, per unit, per unit via fee schedule, OPG).
  • 2+ years working with medical coding and/or certified medical coder.
  • Problem solving skills; the ability to systematically analyze problems, draw relevant conclusions and devise appropriate courses of action?.
  • Excellent knowledge of health care industry and the provider contracting process?.
  • 3+ years experience in a network management-related role, such as provider services?.
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing financial models and analysis in negotiating rates with providers?.
  • 2+ years of claims processing experience including knowledge of systems and guidelines?.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret complex information from others.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, health care management or related field, or equivalent experience?.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, establishing rapport and working well with others?.
  • Strong customer service skills.
