Crowd Fusion is an exciting virtual company, made up of people who love what they do; we rely heavily on strong communication skills and interactive tools like Basecamp, Campfire, Skype and email. Full time candidates must have a history of working successfully in a virtual environment.

The core framework of Crowd Fusion as well as the CMS foundation are open source written in PHP. We’ve modeled much of our core code on Java OO concepts. As part of the application process, you will be given access to our open source beta program to familiarize yourself with our core platform.

REQUIREMENTS:

Full time employment is available today. Ideal candidate has superb skills in Object Oriented Programming, a working knowledge of JavaScript, experience with content management systems, and a desire to be part of a rapidly growing startup company providing an enterprise level content management platform to popular brands at large companies. WordPress Custom Plugin Development

DESCRIPTION:

The gawkerverse is looking for a freelance developer to enhance a custom WordPress plugin. We are seeking a talented LAMP developer to optimize a web application and add new functionality. The coding is performed remotely, but we prefer canidates in the USA or Canada.??The ideal candidate would be a well rounded individual able to handle complex server side development and experienced with client side coding. We are looking for an dependable, knowledgeable developer to build a long-term relationship with. ??The sites in our network are: foodgawker, craftgawker, weddinggawker, dwellinggawker.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years web application development experience with PHP and MySQL
  • 3+ years with WordPress custom plugin development
  • 3+ years experience with XML, JSON, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Experience optimizing complex SQL queries
  • Ability to write efficient code to minimize server loads
  • Familiarity with APIs and parsing JSON/XML
  • Experience working with Google Maps API
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS3
  • Knowledge of browser differences and ability to code cross-browser compatible code
  • Excellent problem solving skills to provide better or alternative solutions
  • Strong communication skills to address project progress and issues
  • Accountable in delivering agreed upon work on time

The work requires someone with experience developing custom plugins. Simple experience setting up a WordPress site or customizing themes is insufficient. The first project is to optimize the search query and add an enhanced search function. The second project is to integrate the Google Maps API. There are many other projects for the right developer.

Sr. Visual Designer Lead

DESCRIPTION:

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Apply user-centered design practices to create intuitive, delightful and compelling experiences
  • Translate market and user research findings into design concepts and ongoing product enhancements
  • Successfully communicate design concepts, ideas, and rationale to internal teams
  • Educate the organization in the principles of good design
  • Lead the visual design stream on complex projects and mentor the visual design team
  • Collaborate with the research, marketing, product management, engineering, and quality assurance teams to define requirements based on business, user and brand needs, and to bring design concepts to life
  • Develop and refine design solutions through moodboards, screen comps, visualization and prototyping
  • Create detailed UI specifications and mockups to communicate design intent

REUIREMENTS:

  • A current sample of your work and/or portfolio is a must!!
  • An intuitive understanding of interactive media and systems thinking, fluency in user-centered design practices, expert graphic design skills, and an ability to use the tools-of-the-trade to communicate design concepts, ideas, and rationale to your collaborators
  • Sharp design sensibilities, critical thinking, and an eye for detail
  • Experience across the product development lifecycle of mobile/web applications, and a track record of successful launches
  • Familiarity with the mobile space, and an awareness of the relevant technical and ergonomic considerations
  • A broad awareness of trends in technology, media & design
  • The ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines for yourself and a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort in switching between thinking through the problem and just rolling up your sleeves to figure it out and get it done
  • 5+ yrs professional experience as a graphic designer, with 2+ yrs in a leadership position
  • 2+ yrs experience in Mobile UI design
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or related fields
