WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

As we continue to grow, we’re in need for an design wizard who can turn ideas into a visually stunning product. Designers must be experienced with web and mobile platforms. Attention to detail as well as understanding of UI/UX is necessary. This position is contractually based in the beginning, but if successful, you will be in a unique position to not only join full time(and earn equity options) as a lead designer, but build and lead a team.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Create theme appropriate designs for future web features as well as entire mobile platforms
  • Mastery of Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Proficiency of Rails, JQuery, CSS, and front end development is preferred
  • A great eye for visual design (layout, colors, feel, etc)
  • Proficiency in print designs (flyers, banners, etc)
  • Portfolio of previous and relevant work
  • Proactive, driven, and able to work well in a small team setting.

Senior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

REQUIREMENTS:

Senior Designer

DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Studio Manager, this position will be responsible for creating award winning concept driven design for Nixon under the Art Director’s creative guidance. The Senior Designer must be highly organized, able to work efficiently on multiple projects in a tight deadline oriented environment and follow through with details of all projects from concept to completion. A thorough understanding of graphic design, acute sensitivity to typography, strong understanding of contemporary design trends and adherence to Nixon’s brand ID standards are paramount to success in this position.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Seasonal Ad Campaign Design and Conception.
  • Product and consumer catalog layout and design.
  • Point-of-purchase concept and design.
  • Packaging design.
  • Design of wire frames for nixonnow.com.
  • Seasonal graphic forecasting for product department briefs.
  • Concept development of product photography for both print and web when needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 4 years experience, in-house or agency art department
  • BA or AA in Graphics Arts, or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Ability to take creative direction and adapt to Nixon’s brand standards
  • Excellent technical skills with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Understanding of multimedia platforms and html a plus
