Senior API Developer
DESCRIPTION:
Mimeo.com is expanding our expert team of developers to build out our emerging MimeoConnect Platform. The MimeoConnect API team is seeking a senior software engineer to work on our SOAP and REST APIs.
The successful candidate will have strong service-oriented design and development expertise as well as experience developing highly scalable, multi-tier web systems. He or she will work closely with other internal development teams, so strong interpersonal skills are important to build relationships with peers and other teams to achieve objectives, maintain objectivity, and give and welcome feedback on design/implementation decisions.
The Senior API Developer position is responsible for the development and maintenance of component based web services within an agile development lifecycle. You’ll be partnering with other team members to deliver integrated solutions for both internal and external customers. The ideal candidate will not require a program or project manager to manage engineering collaborations across teams, or to manage their own delivery commitments.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Deep experience in Microsoft technologies including C#, .NET BCL, LINQ, ASP.NET, WCF, SQL and MSMQ
- At least 5 years of experience with web technologies such as JSON, XML, SOAP
- Fluent in object oriented design and design patterns
- Adept at SQL Server, including ability to understand schemas, write queries, and stored procedures
- A track-record working on a team building fast, reliable, large, multi-threaded, scalable web services
- Ability to react quickly to emerging customer requirements and technologies, and anticipate future needs
- Have a strong affinity for building software and/or platforms that will be used by other developers, and have supported those developers with the adoption of solutions you built
- Strong awareness of current web developer APIs and standards
- A BS in Computer Science or Engineering, or comparable experience
- Passionate about quality, supportability, extensibility, and simple design
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
HIGHLY DESIRABLE
- Experience with parallel computing topics and Microsoft’s PLINQ/TPL APIs
- Experience with Unit Testing and Behavior Driven Design
- Experience with PaaS or IaaS Platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services and EC2
- Familiarity with capabilities of other service platform frameworks such as PHP, Ruby, Java
- Experience with Agile principles and practices such as TDD, Continuous Integration, daily Scrums, and sprint/release planning and execution
- Experience with NoSQL solutions
- Knowledgeable in Domain Driven Design

Mobiledia.com is a leading site for news on mobile technology, tablets, apps and Internet TV.
We are looking for well-qualified journalists, writers and bloggers to report on, analyze and quantify the impact of news in the mobile industry. We follow a strict AP-style, top-down format with analysis and commentary.
The freelance writer will:
- Write news on company actions and upcoming events, e.g., new product releases or new services; most news is covered by major media outlets such as WSJ, Reuters, AP and Bloomberg, so there is no investigative journalism
- Analyze tech company moves and closely monitor relevant events in the industry; since the news is covered by many places, well-written analysis is key and what distinguishes us from our competitors
- Assess the likely impact of each scenario
- Work in mornings; news day begins around 8am EST and runs through the late afternoon
- Articles run on average 300-400 words in length
- While the work is freelance, we are looking for candidates who can commit to a regular Monday through Friday schedule and write at least 3 articles a day. Writers who excel will be offered full-time positions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- College degree in journalism or English
- At least two years of professional work experience in journalism writing for major newspapers or comparable profession
- Superior ability to disaggregate information and drive to the root of the issues
- Ability to draw conclusions from a well-documented and well-supported set of analyses
- Demonstrable attention to detail and organizational skills
- An entrepreneurial and energetic approach to the job
