Example 1:

Nickname-Submission system that allows users to submit nickname ideas for a NASCAR driver via Twitter, Text or Form Field. These are captured into a CMS. Names approved by Moderators get published back out to a Dynamic Vote Ranking display. Also has ability to share each approved name back to Facebook (this type of social/share stuff is very common and we’d need someone who knows how to do this type of integration).

Example 2:

Facebook Application that allows users to take either a profile pic, a web cam pic, or uploaded pic, and decorate, edit, apply various visual filters, etc. Save n’ Share API stuff, etc, etc.

Example 3:

Call this one a wild-card example, in that it’s not HIGHLY typical of the work we get paid to do. But if you happened to be able to make things like this, using AS3, you’d already be at third base with us.

We’ll consider anyone from any location. We already have an SF office, a Nashville office, Satellite setup in NY. If you’re in one of these areas that’s great, but not a requirement.

Motion Graphics Designer

DESCRIPTION:

We are currently seeking a freelance motion graphics designer to help us create impactful and innovative animations and motion graphics presentations for our websites and videos. Intuitive, thoughtful, and dramatic motion graphics are a crucial ingredient in our work to help people understand and approach world issues such as tuberculosis & malaria vaccines, the global water crisis, emerging market small business development, and many others. We are looking for someone who understands the value of storytelling and is enthusiastic about working as part of our team of cinematographers, designers, developers, and account professionals.

While this is a freelance position, we would ideally like to create a long-term relationship. Darby is growing and always taking on new and exciting clients. There is a great deal of room to grow with us and we are looking for someone passionate about the work we do and the challenges we face.

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-production planning, storyboarding and brainstorming
  • Designing and animating sophisticated multi-layered animations and motion graphics
  • Interpreting scripts
  • Collaborating with Creative Director and fellow designers to exceed clients’ expectations

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4+ years of motion graphics and design experience
  • Hands-on knowledge of After Effects and Adobe Suite, Final Cut, Photoshop, and In-Design
  • Superior capabilities with 3D software is crucial
  • Experience developing storyboards and translating them into effective motion graphics
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of people
  • Able to take initiative to be productive and efficient

PowerPoint Artist/Graphic Designer (Freelance)

DESCRIPTION:

Designer will be asked to create graphics and animations for PowerPoint presentations. They will work either directly from a script or from existing graphics that need to be redone.

REQUIREMENTS:

They must be proficient in using PPT masters, animations, and graphics. Ideal candidate knows how to organize their time in order to meet tight deadlines and is highly responsible. This is a work-from-home position, so artist must be comfortable and capable of working unsupervised. Please submit samples and hourly rate along with inquiry.
