Freelance Developer

DESCRIPTION:

Balsam Brands is looking for a talented individual to join our team. This individual must be excited about developing and maintaining a custom software application to facilitate business processes in a growing ecommerce business. A successful freelance developer would be able to speak on a non-technical level with business leads and work independently as Balsam Brands’ primary technical resource supporting the application without other technical assistance.

Due to the seasonality of the ecommerce business, from mid-September through mid-January, the freelance developer will focus primarily on maintenance of the application based on the needs of the organization. This is estimated at 10 hours/week. From mid-January through mid-September, the developer would be adding features and other upgrades to the application based on the Operations team’s list of business priorities. This is estimated at 25-30 hours/week.

While Balsam Brands is located in the Bay Area, developers who are based in other parts of the United States are welcome to apply. We are very open to working remotely with the freelance developer as long as the individual has a proven track record of effectively working remotely with team members or clients. More detailed information about the software application will be provided to candidates during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities:

REQUIREMENTS:

Key Skills:

  • 3 years experience with C# GUI applications, Microsoft Visual Studio, and the .NET framework
  • 3 years experience with SQL, relational database concepts, and database architecture and design
  • Understanding of ecommerce systems, general web concepts, and XML
  • A well rounded background in information technology, computer languages, databases, and operating systems
  • Strong project management skills with proven ability to work with teams remotely
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

DSG is looking for acute care MT’s — especially those who have eScription experience and are willing to work 2nd and 3rd shift schedules. We also have orthopedic clinic positions, and these also require an afternoon/evening type schedule. Both involve speech recognition editing. DSG requires a minimum quality requirement of 98% and our applicants should be familiar with the AHDI BOS. Our full-time positions require 40 hours per week and part time requires 20 hours per week. All acute care schedules require one weekend day. For our FT employees, we offer a fantastic benefits package which includes health/dental/vision, paid time off and 401K.
