Remote Interventional Cardiology Coder
DESCRIPTION:

The position will report to our Staffing Department and will be a home-based (remote) position. This position will be responsible for:
- Review of all charged interventional cardiology procedures
- Validation that codes will pass all CCI edits
- Communication with IC department through shared document on charge recommendations
- Daily reconciliation and validation of all recommended corrections
- Communication with IC department of missing operative reports
- Communication with physicians and IC department of missing documentation to support charging prior to billing
- Daily tracking of all accounts and reporting of progress weekly
- Maintaining charge reviews within 3-4 days from date of service
- Coordination with teammate on completion of daily work
REQUIREMENTS:
- Interventional coder – 4+ years recent specialization or high concentration of experience in Interventional Cardiology
- CIRCC certification preferred – though extensive experience in interventional cardiology in lieu of certification would be considered
- High level attention to detail regarding tracking of accounts and communication
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to teach physicians about the need for specific documentation to support charges
- Proficient in Excel documents and formulas
