DESCRIPTION:

The Delight Group is looking to collaborate with a coder with iOS and Android experience. We are developing a cutting edge app to innovate Talk Radio. We have established relationships within the industry and a killer idea – we need a coder with chops to help us develop and launch the app.

REQUIREMENTS:

The App: TalkMobile (working title) takes Talk Radio and re-imagines it for a new media age. It is the fulfillment of what Talk was always meant to be: a source of education and action. This app offers a variety of features not yet seen in the marketplace and promises to become a blockbuster source of new ideas and capital generation.

Code Team Budget: $50k(+).

Experience: 2+ years or 5+ apps preferred

Perks: Possiblibility of profit sharing from the app.

Time Commitment: Unknown – we would need input from our hire. Goal: to have a beta version by Dec 2011.

Full Disclosure: We are still fundraising for this app. Coder would need to be willing to work on spec until funding. We are willing to talk about a higher future payout rate OR profit sharing in exchange.

News Editor

DESCRIPTION:

Sprout Social is looking for a talented and responsible News Editor to contribute to our new blog on a daily basis. This role will be responsible for identifying the most critical social media news that matters to business and marketing professionals, and writing news articles and value-added features in a timely manner. This is a part-time, freelance position.

Responsibilities

• Monitor RSS, Twitter, Google trends, and other sources to identify social media news that is relevant to small and local business, marketing professionals, and enterprise.
• Promptly write and publish the most vital news coverage as needed, as well as timely feature-length articles such as how-tos and guides related to trending topics.
• Observe post analytics and select stories, execute social media promotions, and SEO strategies to improve traffic and utility.
• The News Editor will report to the Editorial Director, but will be expected to work independently to select and publish quality posts throughout the day.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications

• Experience as a regular writer for a commercial blog, preferably in the technology or social media spaces.
• Exceptional writing skills and an ability to write relatable and personal features for absolute beginners while adhering unfailingly to style guidelines and processes.
• Detailed knowledge of social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, Yelp, LinkedIn, Gowalla, and YouTube as they relate to publishing, marketing, and business.
• Independent self-starter who can consistently produce quality and timely content without persistent direction, as well as identify the highest priority stories.
• Familiarity with search engine optimization (SEO) and analytics.
• This is a work-from-home position, but eastern or central time is preferred to get a jump on morning news.

Compensation

This is a part-time freelance work agreement. The accepted applicant will be paid a competitive monthly rate.

Freelance Writer

DESCRIPTION:

INSIGHT Into Diversity, a 37-year-old national diversity employment magazine, seeks a freelancer to write monthly articles on current topics in the world of diversity and employment. The articles can range in length from 1,000 to 1,700 words and will be assigned by the publisher and/or editor. Fee paid is $225 per accepted article.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Minimum of three years professional writing experience.
2. Must have written previously about diversity topics, preferably with
