I’m looking for an experienced Ruby developer. Initially for some specific improvements to Spendful.com.

REQUIREMENTS:

I use Rails, Git (github) and Heroku (postgres). There’s also a mobile app built using Phonegap and jQuery mobile. I’d give preference to someone with good front-end experience (HTML5, Sass, Haml, jQuery) and who writes tests.

I’m looking for someone who can follow instructions, but works better setting their own tasks. Someone who can prioritise features, and work on them without direction. Most importantly, you should be interested in building apps for fun and profit.

You’ll be working on new features, fixing bugs and writing tests. I also need improvements to the API that the mobile apps use. There may be other tasks involved such as moving it over to an EC2 instance, or improving performance, so the more experience you have with the full-stack, the better.

This is a remote role (I’m in the UK), time difference is not an issue.

THE JOB

Web Search Evaluators will review and evaluate internet search results based on specific search terms and provide a rating depending on the relevance of the search result to the search term. The evaluation work is done using an online automated tool.

For most projects, you will be allowed the flexibility to choose the hours you wish to work each day, however you must work 20-22 hours per week, 4 hours per day Monday to Friday (no weekend work at this time). The freelance work is expected to extend through summer of 2012, possibly beyond.
